Goodbye for now, Times Square

It's Monday, January 5, 2025, and Julia and I are saying a fond goodbye to Times Square, where we and other undesirables gathered beginning on January 2 to take advantage of the low, low post-ball-drop rates.
In answer to your question, we saw Aladdin (not my cup of tea,) Operation Mincemeat (from Row B, thank you very much, which made my neck hurt, but gave me the feeling that a British woman was shouting at me at close quarters, which had an oddly nostalgic effect,) and Buena Vista Social Club.
So, about the nostalgia for a shouting British woman: I meant my dear departed mom (or mum, though I never called her that.) Though my present theatre bug post-dates her death, I am sure she would have found Mincemeat hysterical.
BVSC was an amazing musical experience -- a brilliant Spanish-language Cuban concert, for all intents and purposes, set in Havana, and punctuated by story elements in English. Julia got fired up outside the theatre, and, noticing that my shoe was untied, shouted "Hey Gringo, tie your shoe." Everybody else (to their credit) was surprisingly tolerant of my white self.
This pilgrimage has been an annual occurrence for Julia and me, come Hell or high water, since January 2024. It's born of a dream to join the writers who one day get to see their shows on those hallowed boards... so suffice it to say, it's aspirational.
But a lot is underway that should move the ball down the aspirational field... giving rise to the post I hope you're still reading now!
Colorado's New Musical Project recently emailed to say that they believed in the strength of my work on After Every Dream, and that they wanted to give me and the show a shoutout on their social media and website as "a writer/show that people should follow."
This pushed me to reexamine my website, which I've revamped just a bit to keep up with rewrites.
So, I began working on the site again between and after shows, and early in the morning when my insomniac gringo butt rolled out of bed... and I began thinking about what content I wanted to host.
And that led me to wonder about tools to keep people updated!
And that's why I thought that the terminal at LaGuardia was a good place to test-launch the blog... because that's where I found myself when I hit on the idea of a blog to keep folks updated on all things Dream!
Check back for more as I figure out how to do this... and soon I hope to even give you the ability to get email updates when there is news!
